History

Titon is a long established company specialising in ventilation. It was founded in 1972 by John Anderson, its current Deputy Chairman, and is based in Colchester, Essex. It floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1988 as Titon Holdings Plc. Titon employs around 190 people divided between its head office in Colchester and its factory in Haverhill, Suffolk.

Titon manufactures and supplies ventilation and window and door products – ranging from its signature Trimvent background ventilator to window handles, locking systems and hinge systems as well as powered ventilation products including whole house systems and extract fans. As a manufacturer, Titon also invests heavily in research and development, which enables the company to use the latest technology to keep its products both innovative and cost effective.

Focusing primarily on new build and social housing, Titon works with housebuilders to ensure they comply with all aspects of the Building Regulations, particularly Part F which deals with ventilation in housing. Titon’s own dedicated Building Regulations website www.partf.co.uk is a comprehensive resource of information about the legislation, how it affects house design, as well as offering tools and CPD (continuing professional development) seminars for architects and consultants.

Titon has specialist divisions focusing on its main market areas – Timber and PVCu, Aluminium and Ventilation. These divisions have their own sales teams which cover the UK. They are supported from the Head Office in Colchester with full administration and marketing departments. Additionally, a state-of-the-art manufacturing base at Haverhill is home to the production and research and development departments.

As you would expect, Titon places a strong emphasis on quality, testing and customer service. To ensure consistent quality, Titon holds ISO9001 Certification and all electric/electronic products and components are CE certificated. In line with the company’s commitment to sustainability and best environmental practices, Titon has also secured ISO14001 certification which demonstrates the minimisation of any detrimental effects its operations may have on the environment, as well as ensuring it continues to improve environmental management.

Titon is affiliated to a number of industry organisations, including the Glass & Glazing Federation, the Council for Aluminium in Building, Residential Ventilation Association, British Woodworking Foundation and the Chartered Institute for Building Engineers.

In addition to its UK activities, Titon exports its products to a range of overseas markets. The USA market is supplied through its wholly owned subsidiary; Titon Inc. Elsewhere Titon has appointed distributors within most major world markets. Titon works closely with these distributors to market its products effectively and to support them in providing the high level of service synonymous with the Titon brand.
