Staff and students at Chelmer Valley High School in Chelmsford, Essex, are benefitting from the increased flow of clean air thanks to 40 SF ventilators and canopies from Titon. The high performance surface mounted slot vents were installed on aluminium framed replacement windows, during the refurbishment of the performing arts block, home economics lab, plus the development of a new sixth form centre.

The SF vents and canopies were specified by Suffolk-based glazing and cladding specialists, Prism Architectural Ltd. Mike Thompson, Project Manager said: “The Titon products were chosen because of their ability to deliver the required rates of air change, which is a major priority for large-scale public buildings such as Chelmer Valley High School. We received excellent support and advice from Titon throughout the specification and installation and we would be happy to work with them again.”

For use on aluminium or PVCu windows, Titon’s SF vent is a high performance surface mounted aluminium slot ventilator that fits over a 13mm slot and provides an Equivalent Area (EA) of up to 6200mm², when fitted with an SF canopy. The SF vent is available in made to measure sizes or bar length, in a variety of colours to ensure convenience and ultimate flexibility.


Designed to comply with Building Regulations (Part F), the SF vents and canopies are ideal for retrofit applications, over a slot or series of holes and also feature a compression closing action and high performance gasket to improve weather tightness.
