Catch as catch cam - new from Titon 08/2008

Titon, the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of window hardware, has launched a new cam catch and a range of keeps for vertical sliding sashes.  Suitable for PVCu or timber, the Alliance Cam Catch comes in both locking and non-locking versions.

The Alliance Cam Catch is ergonomically designed and will suit both older style and contemporary windows.  It is available in both plated and painted finishes and Titon has launched a matching range of cast and pressed metal keeps for different window sections.  The Alliance Cam Catch is available in painted finishes for standard windows or plated finishes that are ideal for premium range projects.

Designed with the occupant in mind, the lock is on the horizontal plane (forward facing) to make operation much easier – other cam catches have their locks on the top, which are usually above the user’s line of sight on a vertically sliding sash.

When fitted to correctly designed windows, the Alliance Cam Catch passes the BS7950 security standard for vertical sliding windows, one of the few cam catches/fitch locks to be able to do so – giving real peace of mind to the homeowner or tenant.

Tyson Anderson, Sales and Marketing Director at Titon, said: "The Alliance Cam Catch is a little piece of design and engineering excellence.  We’ve taken a well-known and popular product and improved its features to come up with the Alliance.  The Alliance now gives vertical sliding window manufacturers a product which suits a number of different styles, and the occupant a much more user friendly fitting.”
